Before whom the Vedas recited praises, In whose every pore, countless universes reside and revolve, Maya, atoms, sun, moon, and deities, this knowledge vanishes in a moment. Such is Shri Swaminarayan, the sovereign of Akshardham. Whose speech, filled with nectar, is like sweet elixir for the people, With divine vision, all the blessed devotees behold. With sweet love in their heart, they reside with a gentle motherly smile. To that Shri Gyanji Yogiraj Guru, we daily bow. One who does not have the habit of listening to discourses will not see their own flaws. Listen to the talk again. One who does not have the inclination to listen to discourses, will not be able to see their own flaws. If we listen to discourses, we will see our flaws. If we see our flaws, we will continue to perform devotion and prayer. If we see our flaws, other thoughts will arise in us. Dangerous thoughts will arise. At any cost, in any circumstances, if you have the habit of listening to discourses, then pretense, arrogance, show-off, display, cleverness, lust, anger, greed, if any wrong thought arises, that is also a lustful tendency. If we saw a woman and a thought arose, "How beautiful she is," that is a dangerous lustful tendency, be careful. If one's gaze goes towards a woman, it is definitely a sexual tendency. Never openly like that. We came from Rajkot with Bapa, I was a youth. It gets a bit late. If Bapa went to Rajkot, then the swami would change the time of their discourse. He would tell all the devotees to come before dinner. And after Bapa finished his discourse, he would perform the thal (offering food to God) from there and then come to Rajkot Gondal. And he would arrive at the night assembly exactly at 9:30. Bapa was very prone to colds. We had to keep a stack (of blankets/shawls) with us all the time. We left Rajkot in the car and the swami caught a cold. After the evening prayer, he parked the car outside, and then outside, he would stand, then alight from the vehicle, and then sit later. Bapa's body was very frail. Ours is a bit robust. We only manage to get by with one and a half muhurta. Our three hours are almost up. Yet I haven't told you that you should sleep less than three hours. Sleep for six hours. It is a sadhu's duty to sleep for six hours. If the discourse starts, it's at 9:30 PM in Gondal. At 9 o'clock, we would sit for meditation. Bapa would finish his private matters and arrive at the exact discourse time of 9:30 in Gondal. Upon arriving, he would immediately take the mic and say, "Shrimad Sadguru Salenam," which they used to say, "Janmya Kaushaldev, he was born in Kaushaldesh," they used to say that. Its meaning is very beautiful. Shrimad Sadguru Salinam Chidachid Viyaptam Cha Divyakrutam. I will explain the meaning of that shloka once. It is a fine shloka. Bhagwan Swaminarayan, (written by) Paramhansas, what genius people they all were. There were four who came, who sang and wrote devotional songs; they had brought elephants. In Hathilala, saints wrote; Bhaktachintamani, saints wrote. All the scriptures that existed were written by saints. When Bhagwan Swaminarayan came to earth, he brought a strong, capable military. No one had to be searched for. 500 Paramhansas and 1500 other sadhus. Understand? Each Mahant, each Paramhansa, each senior Paramhansa was given 200-200, 250-250 sadhus. Just imagine how much effort they put in; five temples were built. And at the age of 49, five temples, six temples. And the idol consecration ceremony of six temples, after performing which, Bhagwan Swaminarayan ascended to his divine abode. He worked at a great speed. What was his age? 49 years, five months, and four days. He knew that he would definitely return. Even after explaining the concept of Parabrahma to fellow Brahmas, they could not understand. Bhagwan Swaminarayan began by explaining that Jiva, Ishwara, Maya, Brahma, and Parabrahma are five eternal realities. Listen closely. Jiva means all of us, the eternal ones. Ishwara means deities like Shiva and Brahma, and incarnations like Rama and Krishna. They are eternal. Jiva, Ishwara, Maya; Brahma means Gunatit, Parabrahma means Bhagwan Swaminarayan. These five realities were eternal. Brahma is all-pervading. Bhagwan Swaminarayan is pervasive, yet as the bestower of karma's fruits, as the indwelling spirit, Bhagwan Swaminarayan is pervasive. Everyone must become Aksharbrahma, one must live with the feeling "I am Gunatit". One must live believing that the saint is a form worthy of meditation for me. If I live with the feeling "I am Brahma," then servitude will manifest. One will see their own flaws. Whether one feels like getting a wife or not. One will not feel like looking at or thinking about any animal. My Swami and my service are enough spiritual practice for me. How vast the community was. 500 Paramhansas. 1500 sadhus. Age 49. How much work was done. So much, in such a short time, Bhagwan Swaminarayan spoke an amazing 1000 Vachanamruts. How many, Bhagwan Swaminarayan? Oh my God. Then he spoke of five Vachanamruts. That, "select such Vachanamruts." Then the Lord read all the Vachanamruts. Then it was decided to print the scripture. The Vachanamruts of the Vachanamrut Gadi were printed in Ahmedabad. On this side, those of Vadtal Gadi. All the Vachanamruts from this side. But he spoke a lot. He spoke over 1000 Vachanamruts. Whenever he was free, he would start by saying, 'Shri Hari Om,' and call out, 'Shri Swaminarayan, come, let's talk'. What does it mean to perform the idol consecration ceremony for five temples in 49 years, two months, and four days? One gets exhausted. What does it mean to perform the idol consecration ceremony for five temples? Where would all 500 Paramhansas and 1500 sadhus have slept? Just think about this much. Bhagwan Swaminarayan built five temples. 1500 sadhus. 1500 sadhus, 500 Paramhansas, parishads. At that time, the Vaishnava sect and the Ramanandi sect greatly opposed him. But Maharaj's supreme, supreme authority, of which the opponents of Swaminarayan were unaware, and five temples were completed, and Bhagwan Swaminarayan himself performed the idol consecration ceremony. It is written in one Vachanamrut that the idol consecration ceremony of one temple had not been performed. I don't recall that. But my Bhagwan Swaminarayan spoke 2000 Vachanamruts. Two Vachanamruts, from 2000 Vachanamruts, 262 were selected. What would he do when he was free? Talk. What does 2000 Vachanamruts mean? We just enjoy ourselves and wander around. Jai Swaminarayan. He spoke a lot. At the age of 49, such a great work cannot be achieved. But the majestic, all-powerful form of Jai Swaminarayan was a benevolent person. He conducted the Samadhi chapter (or topic of Samadhi) in such a way, for seven years. He initiated thousands into satsang. He initiated countless thousands into satsang. He performed samadhi for many Sadgurus. From 12,500 Paramhansas, 12 Sadgurus who were Mahants of other sects were made sadhus. They were Mahants of other sects. Bhagwan Swaminarayan made them sadhus. But in a very short time. After speaking 1000 Vachanamruts, Maharaj selected them. Then he selected these 262. 11 more from the Ahmedabad Gadi. So, theirs were 277. Our 262, the Vadtal Gadi followers, as we call them, and those from Ahmedabad Gadi, and on the other side, Kutch Bhutdhar. All that. The Vadtal Gadi was a bit prosperous. The Ahmedabad Gadi was given other regions, UP and all those. It looks open like this. It clearly seemed to everyone that he showed affection towards Raghu Ji Maharaj, but less affection towards the elder brother. So, they asked Maharaj. Then Maharaj said, "Do not worry, people." Ahmedabad is going to become a city of prosperity; there will be no need for a gadi (seat of authority) there. That's how it is now. Second highest richest city of India. Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad Gadi. Paramhansas and all the great elders. All the Paramhansas, whose names are not usually specially mentioned in relation to Swaminarayan, but they came three or four times. If one does not like Bhagwan Swaminarayan's actions, one has to come to earth repeatedly. If one does not obey his words, one definitely has to come to earth, be careful. He made 2000 sadhus, you know. From those 2000, then Jai Swaminarayan. He made 262 Paramhansas; he had chosen 200 based on quality. It is not a circumstance that talks about eternity, so I am not going into it, but... He had made many sadhus. In that way. But as a living tradition, the Swaminarayan Sampraday has its lineage. It is the lineage of Acharya Bapa, established as a living tradition. Yes. Bhagwan Swaminarayan said that saints should not remain on earth. We all have a great time. Without the company of a sadhu, stubbornness, pride, and envy do not go away; without the company of a sadhu, lust, anger, and greed do not go away. Without the company of a sadhu, one cannot see one's own flaws. Without the company of a sadhu, Jai Swaminarayan, there is no cessation of lust, anger, and greed. As long as lust, anger, greed, stubbornness, pride, and envy remain, one has not truly associated (with saints). I am saying it again. As long as lust, anger, greed, and stubbornness, pride, and envy cause trouble. Until then, one has not truly associated with saints.
